Your Responsibilities

Together with other leisure leaders, you will organize, lead, and plan open leisure center activities. Your work is characterized by a holistic view, inclusion, and responsibility. You are a good adult role model who easily builds relationships and can create a positive dialogue with young people.

The open leisure center is a drug-free environment where young people feel safe, significant, and have meaningful leisure activities.

The Mobile Leisure Center targets youth aged 10–16 years and aims to promote young people's health, motivations, and interests where they can feel safe, significant, and have meaningful leisure activities.

The work is largely outreach. Together with the youth, you will create arenas where they are. You will work with mentoring and coaching young people while leading and creating activities with them.

Mejeriet UNG is the open meeting place for youth in Västervik city and part of the Mejeriet youth & cultural house. The activities consist of an open youth program for the age group 13–19 years and a café that is aimed at all ages.

As a leisure leader at Mejeriet UNG, you will also work in the café and provide service to tenants and visitors in the building. The job also includes collaboration with others who work for and with young people, such as associations.

An approximate work distribution for the position is Mobile Leisure Center 75% and Mejeriet Ung 25%

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a trained leisure leader or has other education that the employer deems suitable. You have previous experience with similar tasks involving children and youth.

A driver's license (B) is a requirement for the position.

You are open, social, and responsible, and you are a good role model for young people. As a person, you are secure in yourself and can adapt your behavior to the situation you are in. You are a lively person with many fun ideas. You are skilled at handling social media and, above all, you have the desire to be there for the youth in Västervik Municipality. You will mentor and coach young people but also be responsible for arranging your own activities and leading them.

The work thus requires a high degree of personal maturity, the ability to drive your work forward, and a good ability to collaborate with others. We also value the ability to be flexible as you may need to quickly adapt to changing circumstances.
